Rainforest Location

Our inland activities will focus around the Tropical Education Center/Belize Zoo, Actun Tunichil Cave System, Mountain Pine Ridge and the Upper Macal River Valley. IMPORTANT: water levels on rivers may require us to alter trip itineraries.

Reef Location

The marine portion of the trip will be based from Half Moon Caye on Lighthouse Reef Atoll. Our area of travel has close access to the main reef along with numerous patch reefs, lagoons, the outer reef walls, extensive seagrass beds and mangrove habitat. Transportation to and from our base camp is by motorboat.

Guides and Group Leaders

Both Belizean and North American leaders will coordinate the adventure. Alongside our North American and Belizean trip leaders, we bring in guides who have specific expertise pertaining to the local area. Typically this will involve Garifuna or Creole captains and fisherman on the sea and Mayan bush guides in the rainforest. North American leaders are trained and certified in Emergency First-Aid procedures.
